Hi, I’m the developer of Twos, an app and website that helps you remember *things*.

We are constantly improving Twos and this past year, we put out over 46 features along with bug fixes and performance improvements.

Our mission is to build an app that is simple and fun to use, so you can clear your mind, feel better, and remember more of your life.

Here is our roadmap, but let us know what you’d like to see in 2024 in the comments.

1. Siri integration

Twos Siri commands

After many user requests, you can now add *things* to your day using Siri shortcuts on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

2. Toggled headings

Toggled headings for organizing notes into sections

Toggled headings allow you to collapse indented *things* (without creating a sublist) so you can organize and clean up your days and lists.

3. Sharing *things* to Twos World

Sharing *things* to Twos World

In 2022, we added the ability to share lists publicly to Twos World.

In 2023, we added the ability to share *things*.

Similar to Twitter, you can share individual thoughts, ideas, and accomplishments, but there is no character limit, and you can share many *things* at once.

This was a big step toward helping people share and connect over originally private *things*.

4. Customize your nav bar

Customizing your nav bar

After many requests, you can customize the tabs on your nav bar.

You can add up to 5 tabs based on what views you use most.

I don’t use a nav bar and always navigate through the side menu, but it’s available for people who frequently use different views.

5. GPT AI integration

GPT AI integration

You can run AI prompts to create lists and analyze *things*.

I use it a lot for translations, providing feedback on my writing, and summarizing long lists.

6. iOS &Android widget

Twos iOS widget

This was one of the most requested features so far.

It still has room to improve, but it’s available now.

7. Text yourself *things*

Email and text integration in Twos

Much like you’d text yourself, you can send text messages to Twos and those *things* will appear on your day.

This is very useful for keeping *things* organized in one place rather than utilizing a variety of systems.

8. Email yourself *things*

See the screenshot above.

You can forward and send emails to save@twosapp.com from your email or a secondary email in Twos and they will appear on your day.

9. Trash to recover deleted *things*

No photo is necessary, but if you delete a list or *things* accidentally, they can be recovered in the side menu.

Your trash is permanently deleted after 30 days.

10. Private-first comments

Private-first comments

Comments are originally private between you and the person who shared the list or *things*.

The person who shared can choose to show the comment for other people to see if they think it is useful.

This aligns with our emphasis on privacy and wanting to provide a personal experience throughout the app.

11. Liking and saving *things*

Liking *things*

If you hover over the dash of a shared *thing* or a *thing* on a shared list, you can like it.

This is how we do the voting for our roadmap. People can like the *things* or features they are most interested in for us to prioritize.

12. Templates and community templates in Twos World

My templates

This was also a very highly requested feature and I’ve been getting a lot of use out of it :).

You can create a template with a particular structure to reuse as a list or for adding *things* to your day.

I use my nighttime journaling template every night to reflect on my day and plan for tomorrow.

13. Launched Android out of beta

Twos on the Google Play Store

It’s been a work in progress, and still is, but we’re happy to have Twos out of beta on Android.

There are some performance improvements we’re working on and some features still to add, but the app has come a long way and makes a lot of users very happy.

14. Saving other people’s lists

Highlighting the save list button

You used to make a copy of someone’s list if you wanted to save it in your Twos.

The issue was, if the original owner made any changes, your copy wouldn’t update.

Now, you can save people’s lists to your Twos, without needing to make a copy.

This change also came with some very big performance improvements.

This was one of my favorite features we added this year :).

15. Customize your referral code

The referral center

We really love when people share Twos with other people.

To help incentivize users to share, we’ve added referral codes and custom referral codes.

You and the person who uses your code will both get a free upgrade or 200 coins to tip other people in the app.

Use my code “baller” for 200 coins or one free upgrade in our mobile app.

16. Custom reminders

Showing custom reminder in the reminder modal

Previously, you could only set daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reminders.

Now, you can add custom reminders to schedule bi-weekly and other unique reminders.

There is a car show every third Sunday of the month next to our apartment and I like to know when it’s coming up, so this is a great feature to have.

This screenshot also shows the reschedule after completion feature which was added this year and is #44 on this list.

17. Twos Universe to visualize your days and lists

My Twos universe

Isn’t it beautiful?

What was done out of curiosity, is one of the coolest features to explore.

It shows all of the connections and groups of lists you have in Twos.

Not super useful, but fun to play around with.

A closer look at my graph

18. Tabs in the Twos desktop app

Tabs in the Twos desktop app

I am a big web app user, but I do really enjoy the tab feature in the desktop app.

This is something we will likely bring into the web app as well, but this was a great start and fun to build.

19. New highlight colors

Highlight colors

Last year, you had one highlight color, yellow 😂.

Now you can choose from a list of colors and customize your own colors (covered in #21).

20. Auto-sort lists

Showing auto-sort in the list actions

Many people requested this feature to automatically reorder their to-dos, stars, reminders, etc. on their day.

21. Customize your theme and colors

Customize your colors in Twos

Now you can match Twos to your style.

You can pick a pre-made theme made by people in our community, or customize your colors.

22. Multi-word and diacritic search

Search multiple words in any order

Search is so important for finding and remembering the *things* you wrote down.

This year, there were many improvements made to our search and performance.

My favorite addition was being able to search any number of words in any order and being able to find what you were looking for.

23. Sounds when completing *things* and pulling down to load today on mobile

Customize your sounds

Twos is a fun, productivity app.

We added many sounds you can choose from like a funny yay to a lady saying “Yaaaaas queen.”

24. Custom bookmark, tag, and highlight colors

Create custom colors

You used to only have one bookmark color and one highlight color.

Then, you had multiple colors to differentiate your bookmarks.

Many users requested the ability to customize these colors so now you can customize them to your liking.

25. Added followers and following

My following and followers in Twos

The original concept behind Twos was a private-first, social media platform.

Privately record any*thing* you want to remember and easily share some of those *things* from the same place.

Now you can follow friends and other people and you’ll know when they share some*thing* or a list.

26. Customize your bookmark order

Custom bookmark order setting

This was a very highly requested feature as some people like it alphabetized, some people like it sorted by most recently opened, but others want to customize it so they always know where to look.

27. Activity updates on collaboration lists and Twos World

Activity for collaboration and world

We used to send emails whenever someone updated a list you were a collaborator on.

Now, we have an in-app activity section to know when changes have been made and help you access them.

28. Tab filters on the lists, to-dos, reminders, stars, review, and world views

Tabs in the Lists view

This is an easy way to narrow in your search and find what you are looking for.

Are you looking for a list? A day? A list you’re collaborating on? A template?

It also helps communicate to new users all of the different types of lists you can work on.

29. Profile badges for accomplishments

My badges in Twos :)

This is another fun aspect of Twos.

You earn badges based on the number of *things* you write down, lists you create, people you refer, lists you share, and much more.

30. Focus timer

Focusing on posting a blog

This is similar to a Pomodoro timer.

You can pick a *thing* to focus on for a specific amount of time.

You get confetti and the completion sound when you finish :).

31. Resigned the navigation and FAB

Bottom bar and FAB in the Twos mobile app

We’re always trying to make Twos as simple as possible.

We removed the bottom navigation and put everything in the side menu so you know where to go.

Now, there is a Write *Things* Down bar to quickly write *things* down ;) and a contextual FAB (frequently accessed button) to create a list, reminder, to-do, etc. based on the view you are in.

32. Improved search and tag search speed by 700%

Tag search is very fast now

This was covered a bit in #22, but we had to restructure some of the data to allow people to save people’s shared lists and it resulted in a huge improvement in our search speed.

This was super exciting and I learned more about the backend data and queries :).

33. Printing days, lists, and *things*

Printing a list in Twos

You may want to print out your day or print out a list so you can pass them out in a meeting.

We offer a wide variety of sharing and export options so you can own and access your information however you’d like.

34. Customize the view you open to

Customizing your open to

This was another highly requested feature from users.

You can decide to open to Today, Home, a specific list, or the most recent view you had open.

35. Cancel tasks

Completing vs canceling *things*

Sometimes you don’t need to do everything you said you needed to do.

Now, you can cancel tasks so they are no longer unfinished, but still easy to find.

36. Customize your home view

Customize your home

You can now customize the order of the sections and which sections you see in your home.

Pick from a specific list, bookmarks, stars, to-dos, tags, activity, and much more.

37. Daily resetting lists for checklists

Reset list daily setting

Have a checklist you’d like to reuse every day, every week, or every month?

With this feature, you can mark *things* off and have them unchecked the next time you use it so you don’t need to manually uncheck them.

I use this every month for a checklist I use when putting together our newsletter (we call it the Twosletter). It’s nice to dive right back into it without unchecking everything to start.

38. Export to markdown

Copy text or copy makdown

You may be a big fan of markdown.

As I mentioned in #33, we like to provide easy ways for people to export their data however they’d like.

Markdown is on our future roadmap :).

39. New onboarding with the Twos Guys

Twos Guys onboarding

This (and #40) goes along with the fun, human vibe we try to give off as a company and product.

Now the Twos Guys (Joe and myself) help walk new users through Twos.

40. New landing page with the Twos Guys

Twos landing page with Twos Guys

Same as #39, we try to make Twos as human as possible.

41. Import from Apple Notes, Evernote, TXT, Markdown, and HTML

TwosApp.com/import

This was big, especially with the volatile year Evernote had.

We’re happy to offer many different ways for you to import your information from other tools into Twos.

42. Scroll away footer animation

The first animation we added to Twos :)

More space is freed up while reading a long list or while scrolling through your Twos.

43. Updated our icon library to be consistent

Updated icons in the select bar

We used to use icons from many different libraries.

This led to an inconsistent look and feel for the app.

We’ve now upgraded all of our icons to one library.

44. Reschedule repeating reminders once they’ve been completed

Reschedule after completion reminder setting

Want to be reminded of some*thing* in X number of days after you last completed it?

Now you can :).

I use this for a monthly reminder to invest my money.

45. Added a view to review your lists

Options for when to review a list again

This feature helps you review the lists you’ve created.

Don’t just write *things* down and forget about them. That is what happens in most note-taking applications.

The Review view allows you to review your lists and specify when you’d like to look at them again.

46. Pass your Twos onto other users when you die

Leave your Twos for other people :)

This was one of the original features of Twos and one I was happy to bring back.

What happens to your personal information when you die?

You can pick your son, daughter, friend, parents, or anyone, so they can view what you leave behind and learn more about you and what you care about even after you’re gone.

Thank you for Twosin’ in 2023 ✌️
