I’ve been receiving this message on my iPhone every time I got near my Macbook for the past month.

My phone trying to connect to my MacBook

It makes a chime sound, stops any music, and annoys anyone around me.

Here is how to disable this setting…

On your computer:

  1. Open your System Settings on your Macbook
  2. Open Sound in the System Settings
Sound system settings

3. Under Input, remove your iPhone

On your phone:

  1. Open your settings app
  2. General -> Airplay & Handoff
  3. Turn off Continuity Camera

There you have it. No more interruption or sound.

I had a tough time finding this answer on Google so I wrote this to help.
