The car drives itself
A soothing mindset for life
Someone told me I was a good driver. I responded, “The car drives itself.”
Of course it doesn’t, I don’t drive a Tesla.
I was trying to be funny and dismissed the compliment as I typically do.
But to me, the car kind of does drive itself.
I’m constantly thinking about other things while driving.
Some people are texting or talking on the phone.
I’ve driven so much that it actually does feel like the car is driving itself without me having to focus on it.
Sometimes I’ll get home, and it feels like I teleported from where I was.
And more and more, life feels like this.
Life feels almost automatic.
I eat a lot of the same foods (oatmeal), read at the same times, and spend my days doing the same things.
Things almost happen on their own.
I like living like this.
It frees me up to focus intensely on a few things (like the app I build).
It also takes the pressure off.
We don’t need to control everything or stress ourselves out.
I’m always amazed when I zoom out and think about the world at large.
How does it all work so well?
How do people make payments, raise kids, and get enough to eat?
It feels like the car is driving itself.
Obviously, people struggle.
It isn’t as easy for most people, but more and more, I like the idea that “the car drives itself.”
It gives me the sense that everything works out (or will work out eventually).
Things happen the way they should, and everything is going to be okay.
I’m not sure how true it is, but it gives me faith to continue moving forward and believing in a better future.
Keep doing your best to make good choices, enjoy life, and remember, the car drives itself.
